Andoni Berasategui - London, 2011

Andoni joined ID after completing his MSc in Violence, Conflict and Development Studies from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) in London, where he studied the conflict in North Yemen and the local peace processes in Somalia.  Prior to studying at SOAS, Andoni worked as an Operations Assistant at the Delegation of the European Commission to Israel and spent three months working for the Delegation of the European Commission to Israel and spent three months working for the Delegation of the European Commission in Asmara, Eritrea.  He also holds a Masters in Culture and Development from Sciences-Po Lille (France), in which he focused on European Affairs (EU external relations, European law and economic policy).

Matt Gordon - New York, 2011

Matt joined ID after completing his MSc in Violence, Conflict and Development Studies from the School of Oriental and African Studies, where he focused on state-building in East Africa and the social dynamics of financial liberalization in South Africa. He also holds a BA in International Relations from Tufts University, specializing in the politics and economics of both China and sub-Saharan Africa. Prior to his time at ID, Matt has worked, among other jobs, as a Research Assistant at the World Federalist Movement-Institute of Global Policy. He has also spent time in Ghana researching the effects of the gold mining industry on poverty rates within the country.

Ludivine van der Heyden - New York, 2011

Ludivine joined ID after completing a LLM at Columbia Law School.  She holds a LLB from the University of Essex, UK where she studied English and French Laws. She also holds a MA of Public International Law from the University of Pantheon-Assas in Paris.  She has previously worked in private practice in Brussels and with the Coalition for the International Criminal Court.

Oliver Humbel - London, 2011

Oliver joined ID after working at the Office of the Special Envoy for Sudan and the Horn of Africa of the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs. He holds a Msc specializing in Human Geography, International Law and Modern History from the University of Zurich, where he completed field research on individual actor perceptions of governance aspects in the water supply and sanitation sector in Central Sudan. He is now Program Manager for the Political Affairs Division IV at the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs in Juba. 

Todd Levinson - New York, 2011

Todd is currently completing his MPA at Columbia University, focusing on economic and political development, governance, and conflict resolution. He holds a BA in Psychology from Stanford University in California. Previously, Todd worked for over 9 years as a consultant and professional speaker, leading life skills seminars across North America and Asia, where he taught students how to communicate more effectively, overcome mental limitations, and improve their emotional lives. More recently, he interned at UNDP’s regional centre in Fiji, working on a project that brought civil society and government together to collaborate on conflict resolution and peacebuilding issues. His interests include conflict resolution, state and nation building, and effective governance.

Jenny de Nijs - Brussels, 2011

Jenny holds a MA in International Studies and Diplomacy from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), specialized in conflict studies. Before Jenny joined ID, she was a volunteer Project Assistant with Caritas Luxembourg in Kosovo and interned with the United Nations Offices on Drugs and Crime in Vienna as well as at the Center for Security Studies in Zurich. She holds a BA in Contemporary European Studies, French and Spanish from the University of Sussex, where she specialized in EU External Relations and studied abroad at the University Complutense Madrid. She now works at the Luxembourgish Permanent Representation to the EU.

Jennifer Park - New York, 2011

Jennifer is currently completing a MA of International Affairs at the School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University, specializing in Energy and Environment Policy. Prior to joining ID, Jennifer practiced as a securities and white collar litigation and dispute resolution attorney with a major international law firm in New York.  Jennifer also has additional private industry expertise as an investment analyst.  She holds a JD from Northwestern University School of Law and a BA in Political Science from Wellesley College.

Diana Philip - New York, 2011

Diana, an LL.M candidate at Harvard Law School, is a former law clerk of the Supreme Court of India.  She formerly consulted for UNICEF India and interned at the judicial chambers of UNICTR in Arusha, Tanzania.  She holds a B.A. and an LL.B. from Symbiosis Law School, Pune, India.  Her areas of interest include international humanitarian law, international criminal law and human rights.

Viktoriya Radkovets - New York, 2011

Viktoriya is currently completing her MA in Politics and International Studies, with a specialization in Peace and Conflict Studies at Uppsala University in Sweden. She holds a BA in Psychology from The New School University in New York. Previously, she has worked with the Lutheran Office for World Community dealing with advocacy at the United Nations on behalf of the Lutheran World Federation. Viktoriya's projects included advocating at the the Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues, the 2010 Review Conference of the Parties to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, and the Commission on the Status of Women. Her interests include conflict mediation and conflict resolution, as well as old and new security threats.

Maryia Rozum - Brussels, 2011

Maryia joined ID after completing her MA in EU International Relations and Diplomacy from the College of Europe in Bruges, where she focused on a number of security-related issues in the EU, e.g. immigration, terrorism, judicial cooperation, and the EU as a foreign policy actor. Prior to her studies, Maryia worked in a Brussels consultancy with the European Commission. Previously, she worked at the International Criminal Court, Office of the Prosecutor, dealing with the screening and analysis of communications addressed to the ICC, and at the European Commission, DG Europe Aid Cooperation Office. She holds a BA in International Law, with specialisation in Public International Law, and English and French languages (Belarus).

Natalia Yerashevich - Brussels, 2011

Natalia joined ID after working with the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and the U.S. Embassy in Minsk, Belarus. At USAID, Natalia managed programs in civic activism and economic development, and at the U.S. Embassy, she coordinated cultural and exchange projects. Natalia holds a MA in International Economics from the Belarusian State University and is currently working on her MA in Globalization and International Development from the University of Warwick, UK.
