Andrew Lewis is Independent Diplomat’s Director for Africa and Client Development. He leads ID’s projects in Western Sahara and Somaliland and previously oversaw ID’s work with the Government of South Sudan. Before joining ID, Andrew worked in the field of alternative dispute resolution, where he ran a consulting practice in which he mediated contract disputes between Fortune 500 companies, and advised them on how to manage their relationships with clients, suppliers and alliance partners.
He has led negotiation training programs around the globe, based on his own extensive training and collaboration with founding members of the Harvard Negotiation Project. Andrew holds an MA in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from the University of Oxford and a Masters in International Law and Diplomacy from The Fletcher School at Tufts University.
