Taking a potshot at America is easier in the dying days of the Bush
administration, says Carne Ross, head of the diplomatic advisory
organization Independent Diplomat, but the anger "is not just about the
Wall Street meltdown ... it's a year of horrific food and commodity
price rises, a general sense of growing volatility and an uneasy
feeling that the adults are not in charge of the playground."
